What this calculator does
Calculates one discounted unit price, order total, and savings for a quantity purchase using up to three threshold-and-percentage tiers. Once a tier qualifies, its percentage applies to every unit in the order rather than only the units above the threshold.
How to use it
Enter a positive unit price and quantity, then define three minimum quantities and their discount percentages. Keep thresholds in ascending order because the calculator checks tier 3 first, then tier 2, then tier 1.
Worked example
At the defaults, a unit price of 10 and quantity of 75 qualifies for the 50-unit, 10% tier. The discounted unit price is 9.00, the order total is 675.00, and savings versus the 750.00 subtotal are 75.00.
Formulas used
Discounted unit price equals unit price times one minus discount divided by 100. The total multiplies that result by quantity, while savings equals the undiscounted subtotal minus the discounted total.
Tier behavior
This is an all-units discount model, not progressive or marginal pricing. The tier fields are not automatically sorted or constrained, so use increasing positive thresholds and sensible percentages from 0 to 100.
Limitations
Results have no currency symbol; use one currency throughout. The tool does not include tax, shipping, fees, minimum order value, rounding policies, mixed products, or supplier-specific rules.
