Zalgo Text Generator

Transform regular text with the Zalgo Text Generator using copyable Unicode characters for profiles, posts and messages.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server.

What this generator does

Create a deterministic glitch effect by appending eight Unicode combining marks—four above and four below—to every non-whitespace code point. Three fixed mark sets repeat by input position, so the same text always produces the same result; spaces and line breaks remain unmarked. The original characters are retained beneath the marks, but this is a deliberately noisy Unicode sequence rather than a font, image, random generator, or adjustable-intensity effect. It can disrupt line height, selection, search, screen readers, moderation, emoji, and existing combining text, and some apps may strip or reorder marks. Processing and preview stay local.

How to use it

Type or paste text into the Zalgo Text Generator box; the result appears instantly and a copy button sends it straight to your clipboard.

Compatibility

The result is plain Unicode text, so its shape depends on the destination's font — most current apps render it fine, but very old software can show empty boxes.

Before posting

Some platforms count these characters differently toward length limits than plain ASCII, and a few spam filters flag unusual Unicode more readily — preview the result first.

Safe review

Read the output before publishing it and keep the plain original text handy in case a platform strips or mis-renders the styled version.

Other styles

If Zalgo Text Generator isn't quite the look you want, this collection also has the Upside Down Text Generator and Invisible Text Generator for the same input.

Privacy

Every conversion happens locally in your browser; the text you type is never uploaded, logged, or stored by this tool.
