Random Element Picker

Paste a list, pick random winners instantly.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server.

What this tool does

Picks one or more random items from a pasted list, drawing without replacement — once an item is picked, it's removed from the pool, exactly like drawing names out of a hat.

How to use it

Paste your list with one item per line — names, raffle tickets, tasks, prizes — set how many winners or picks you need, and draw; copy the results with one click.

Worked example

Pasting a list of `Alice`, `Bob`, `Carla`, `David`, `Elena` and drawing 2 winners might return `Carla` and `Alice`: each is removed from the pool once chosen, so the same name can never appear twice in a single draw.

Why "without replacement" matters

Drawing without replacement means every remaining item has an equal chance each round, but no single item can win more than once in the same draw — this matches how a real raffle or giveaway works, unlike simply generating random numbers, which could otherwise land on the same person repeatedly.

Common uses

This is useful for raffle and giveaway winners, randomly assigning people to teams or tasks, choosing a presentation order, drawing conference badges, and any situation calling for a fair, unbiased selection from a known list of candidates.

Limitations

This draws from the exact list you paste and does not weight entries (so you can't give one name multiple chances by listing it twice without it being treated as two separate, equally-weighted entries), and it does not verify duplicate names refer to different real people.

Privacy

The entire process runs locally in your browser; your list is never uploaded to a server or stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the same item be picked twice?
No, the picker draws without replacement, so once an item is selected it is removed from the pool, just like drawing names from a hat.
Is there a limit to how many items I can paste?
You can paste as many lines as you like; the tool works instantly even with long lists since everything runs locally in your browser.
Is my list uploaded anywhere?
No. The picking happens entirely on your device — your list is never sent to a server, so it stays completely private.
