Hourly to Salary Calculator
Convert an hourly wage to daily, weekly, monthly and annual pay, or the other way around.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server.
Assumes a constant weekly schedule with no unpaid leave beyond the weeks entered, and a 5-day work week for the daily figure; it does not account for overtime, bonuses, or taxes.

What this calculator does
Converts an hourly wage into its daily, weekly, monthly and annual pay equivalents, or converts an annual salary back into the equivalent hourly rate, based on a constant weekly schedule.
How to use it
Choose a direction — hourly rate to salary, or salary to hourly rate — then enter the hourly rate or annual salary, plus hours worked per week and paid weeks per year (up to 52). All four pay figures update together.
Worked example
At a 25 hourly rate, 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year, the weekly pay is 1,000, the daily pay (assuming a 5-day week) is 200, the monthly pay is about 4,333.33, and the annual pay is 52,000. Entering 52,000 as the annual salary with the same schedule converts back to exactly a 25 hourly rate. Automated tests verify these figures.
Formula
Hourly to salary: annual pay = hourly rate × hours/week × weeks/year; weekly pay = hourly rate × hours/week; daily pay = weekly pay ÷ 5; monthly pay = annual pay ÷ 12. Salary to hourly reverses the first step: hourly rate = annual salary ÷ (hours/week × weeks/year).
Why weeks per year matters
Weeks per year lets you account for unpaid time off: entering 52 assumes every week is paid, while entering fewer (for example 50, for two unpaid weeks) raises the hourly-rate-to-salary annual figure's accuracy for someone who doesn't get paid during that time — and lowers the computed hourly rate when converting the other way from the same annual figure.
Assumptions and limits
The model assumes one constant hourly rate and an unvarying weekly schedule for the whole year; it does not add overtime premiums, bonuses, commissions, paid time off already reflected in the salary, or any tax withholding. The daily figure always assumes a 5-day work week, even if hours per week implies a different schedule.
Currency and regional limits
The fields are currency-neutral: 25 can mean dollars, euros, lira or another unit, and every output uses that same unit. Employment norms — standard hours per week, paid holidays, statutory leave — vary by country, so adjust hours per week and weeks per year to match your own situation rather than relying on the defaults.
Interpretation, sources and privacy
This is an educational estimate of gross pay equivalents, not a payslip, tax calculation, or employment contract term. Calculation runs locally in the browser; Quiklio does not upload the entered values.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why does changing weeks per year change the hourly rate?
- When converting salary to hourly, the same annual salary is divided across fewer paid hours if you enter fewer weeks per year, which raises the computed hourly rate — and the reverse when converting hourly to salary, since fewer paid weeks means less annual pay for the same hourly rate.
- Does the daily pay assume I work every day?
- No — the daily figure always divides the weekly pay by 5, assuming a standard 5-day work week, regardless of what you enter for hours per week.
- Does this include taxes or overtime?
- No — all figures are gross pay based on the entered rate and schedule alone; taxes, overtime premiums, bonuses and commissions are not calculated.
