What this preview does

Shows a desktop-style search-result mockup from a URL, title, and meta description, plus JavaScript character counters against fixed reference values of 60 and 160.

Display behavior

A valid absolute URL is reduced to hostname plus pathname; query and fragment are omitted. Invalid or incomplete URL text is shown unchanged. The title uses one truncated visual line and the description uses a two-line CSS clamp. Counters turn amber above 85% of the reference and red only after it. Reset clears title and description but leaves the URL.

Important limits

This is not an exact Google renderer or pixel-width measurement. It does not fetch the page, inspect metadata, switch device widths, calculate rich results, or predict rewriting and truncation. Search engines can choose different titles, descriptions, URLs, layouts, and limits.

Privacy

The preview is generated locally; entered values are not uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this match Google's exact rendering?
It's a close visual approximation — Google sometimes rewrites titles or descriptions, but this shows the intended snippet.
Why is my title or description truncated?
Google truncates snippets that exceed its pixel-width limit, roughly 60 characters for titles and 160 for descriptions.
Can I preview mobile results?
This preview mirrors the common desktop layout; mobile snippets are similar but slightly narrower.
