Currency Converter

Convert between world currencies using live exchange rates, right in your browser.

What this tool does

Converts an amount from one currency to another using live foreign exchange rates, covering 31 major world currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY and TRY.

How to use it

Enter an amount, choose a source and target currency from the dropdowns, and the converted amount updates automatically. Use the swap button to flip the two currencies instantly.

Worked example

Converting 100 USD to EUR at a rate of 1 USD = 0.92 EUR gives 92.00 EUR — the exact rate shown below the result updates as exchange rates change day to day.

Where the exchange rates come from

Rates come from the European Central Bank's daily reference rates via the Frankfurter API, a free and openly licensed data source. The ECB publishes updated rates once each business day, around 16:00 CET — this tool always reflects that day's published rate, not real-time interbank pricing.

Why this isn't real-time trading data

Banks, card networks and money transfer services all use their own live rates plus a margin or fee — the ECB reference rate is a benchmark, not what you'll actually pay or receive when exchanging money. Use this for estimates and planning, not for pricing an actual transaction.

Limitations

Only the 31 currencies the ECB publishes daily reference rates for are supported — some smaller or restricted currencies aren't available. Historical rates aren't shown; this tool always uses the latest published rate.

Privacy

The currency pair and amount you enter are sent to Quiklio's own server, which relays the request to the exchange rate provider — no user data is stored, and nothing is shared with a third party beyond the currency codes needed to fetch a rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often are the exchange rates updated?
The European Central Bank publishes new reference rates once each business day, typically around 16:00 CET — this tool always shows that day's latest published rate.
Is this the exact rate I'll get at my bank?
No — banks and money transfer services add their own margin or fee on top of the reference rate, so the amount you actually receive will usually be a bit less favorable than the rate shown here.
Which currencies are supported?
The 31 major world currencies the European Central Bank publishes daily reference rates for, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, TRY, CHF and CNY.
